Ishara Art Foundation presents ‘UAE in Focus: A Conversation on Photography’, featuring curator Nasser Abdullah and visual artist Adele Bea Cipste, with moderator Sueraya Shaheen, Co-founder and Photo Editor of Tribe, a non-profit photography journal. Drawing from their respective expertise in the field of photography, the participating speakers share observations about the evolution of the medium in the UAE. The talk traces the rise of photography in the local art scene in recent years, while raising critical questions about the representation of UAE-based artists, the value ascribed to photography as an artistic medium, and the potential for artists to tap into a diversity of styles.
This event is in conjunction with the exhibition Prix Pictet Storm, on view at the Ishara Art Foundation from 17 October – 13 December 2025. The programme is conducted in English.
