Bhooma Padmanabhan


Bhooma Padmanabhan is a curator and arts administrator. She is currently managing the Mrinalini Mukherjee Foundation, a non-profit arts organisation that preserves and promotes the legacy of the Mukherjee family. She trained in Fine Arts at Stella Maris College, Chennai, and in Art History at MS University of Baroda. Her work in the arts industry has focused on photography, art education, public art, and research. Her past experiences include co-curating the Chennai Photo Biennale’s third edition Maps of Disquiet, Chennai (2021–22); researching the state of art schools in India as part of the Expanded Education Program, Students’ Biennale 2018, Kochi Muziris Biennale, Kochi (2018–19); and co-curating A Million Mutinies Later: India at 70, an exhibition of Indian photography, Cardiff (2017). Padmanabhan is currently based in Chennai, India.
